  • Dev Diary - Visibility for Coming Months (Updated 22nd December 2020)

    Hey everyone,

This is the first time in over 3 years that I’ve written a direct post, giving visibility on the development of the game, but this is something we intend to do more often moving forward. In the same light, I wanted to share that the Dev Team and I read the forums a lot and that we try to reply to the posts as best as we can.

Now, over the next few months, we would like to touch on some areas of the game, and I wanted to share our priorities with you:
    • Priority 1: Stability - This is our highest priority and is something we are always working towards. It isn’t something that can be achieved overnight, but please bear with us as we try our best to make your gaming experience as smooth as possible.
    • Priority 2: Bugs - Any bugs that affect the player base on a large scale will be our secondary objective, and we’re going to need more help from everyone on this. Whenever necessary, we will keep asking for more information on issues posted in our forum’s Bug section. Please make sure to provide as much information to reproduce these issues as it helps us greatly in resolving the issue.
    • Priority 3: Bringing back PVP Card Battle - This is a feature we all absolutely love, but at the moment we need to make sure that all cases are covered and any crashes are fixed before we can make it available again.
    • Priority 4: Annual Events - This is something we work on every month and will continue to do so as per the planned dates throughout the year. Who knows, we may even get the chance to add something new this year.
    • Priority 5: A new feature we have been working on but couldn’t get the chance to complete it. Its still under development and we hope to finish it soon. Unfortunately at this moment, we cannot reveal more than that, so stay tuned!
    • Priority 6: Localization - Something we started a while back but had to put on hold after the feedback we received from you during the Beta Test. Hopefully adding some new languages to the game will improve the experience for others and bring more players into the game.

Above all, we believe that having stable servers is the most important objective, and we really want you to know that we’re working hard to make sure that you can continue to enjoy Growtopia uninterrupted.

We hope this gives everyone a better idea of what’s planned in next few months and that you all keep enjoying the updates. I am looking forward to reading your feedback!

    Hey everyone,

The time has come again to share more visibility on the development over the next few months. It has been 3 months already since we shared the last update, so let’s start with an overview of what has happened back then and how things have been progressing.

First, let’s discussed the past 3 months!

    Priorities SHARED on August 31st
    • Priority 1: Stability - This has been significantly improved over the last 3 months as we put in tremendous efforts to provide a more stable environment.
    • Priority 2: Bugs - By constantly updating the change logs, we were able to provide visibility on the progress of resolving issues.
    • Priority 3: Bringing back PVP Card Battle - We managed to release this feature, thanks to your support during the Beta Test.
    • Priority 4: Annual Events - With Wing Week we were able to release a unique new event this year. We also collected all the feedbacks through forums and surveys. All the feedbacks you all share, matter a lot.
    • Priority 5: A new feature - We are still working on this new feature, so unfortunately we had to delay it a bit.
    • Priority 6: Localization - Since we had to prioritize the above, we made the decision to delayed it further.

Call it sort of report card but we are keeping track of everything we are sharing and trying to ensure we provide quality with stability than quantity.

Moving ahead, we would like to take the opportunity to share priorities for coming months and see how we can keep improving ourselves day over day

Updated Priorities for next few months
    • Default Priority : Stability and Bug fixes - Something we would like to add as default priority moving ahead.
    • Priority 1: Bots - We are currently taking more and more measured to combat bots in the game to ensure we can clean them up, as much as possible.
    • Priority 2: THE new feature - As mentioned we have been working on this but couldn’t get the chance to complete it. It’s almost there, we plan to release it early next year, including a Beta Test!
    • Priority 3: Annual events - We will be focusing on all annual events and keep bringing in new content and features to you all.
    • Priority 4 : Reinvesting on some old Features - As soon as we think the above priorities have been addressed, we will look into investing resources on improving old features.
    • Priority 5: Localization - Something we started a while back but had to put on hold after the feedback we received from you during the Beta Test
On top of all this, we are working on a very exciting roadmap for next year for Growtopia and it will be full of surprises and new experiments. We got to try new things to make it better and bring more players to the game.

We hope this gives everyone a better idea of what’s planned in next few months and that you all keep enjoying the updates. Looking forward to reading your feedback!

      Hi Everyone

We wanted to take this opportunity to share visibility with respect to the ongoing priorities which were communicated at the start of the month.
      1. We have been actively working on them and plan to continue eliminating bots from game.
      2. Also something we are planning to work on for old features/systems. We want to improve the sound system/integration in the game which should majorly help everyone with all possible lags they experience with multiple sounds active in their worlds. Sounds is an integral part of world creation experience and having technical issues there is not a pleasantry experience which we also agree.

Will keep everyone posted on how things go and will keep this communication channel open.
