The addition of the Black Friday Box is terrible and shameful.

Making black boxes purchasable for real life money with chances to get certain items is an absolutely awful thing to do. This stimulates a gambling addiction in young children, with actual money. Regular casinos are atleast just with virtual items and not real life money. This is an incredible horrible thing to do and whoever came up with this should feel ashamed by exploiting children this way. I hope Google/Apple will take action against this as it is against their guidelines, especially so for games with a large <13 audience. Some of the rarer items obtainable out of the box probably cost 50+ dollar on average to obtain, which is ridiculous in it's own self. I know you can get those boxes from coupons but the chances are so slim that it's completely neglible.

I'd like a statement from Ubisoft with the reasoning for adding these to the game, as right now this feels like one of the worst cases of corporate greed I've seen in a videogame.

it's just a bonus item for your purchases - I think it'd be fine if the black box contained way less and way less cool-looking items instead of what we have currently - this new update seems to be a cash grab, thanks to all the nifty items we got...
oh, and the gem coupons should be removed, as they drop gem value faster & way too many people buy them in hopes of getting a black box, while the chances are ridiculously low

Decreasing prices of packs/gems during black friday was fine. The big difference here is that the black box is the item people buy the gems for instead of buying the gems with a bonus box. Only by buying gems you have the chance to obtain the rarest items of the box and turn a profit.

As RandomGrowtopiaChicken said; the boxes are bonus from gem packs. And for the childs; i think growtopia added a limit for the childrens who uses their parent's credit card to buy packs. Nothing wrong here.

If you seriously hate the idea, then all you have to do is not buy it. It's an individual choice of someone, not really your problem.. It's not like the items are untradeable. If you want a specific item you can just purchase it from a player, you just don't get to open the Black Friday Box. In case you didn't realise, the point of this game to Ubisoft is to make money and this whole game is a 'cash grab', which is okay because we need players who spend money to run the servers and pay the ubistaff salaries. I don't know why people don't realise that Ubisoft's job is to make money from the players.

Furthermore, I just want to say that Growtopia itself is a gambling game. There is always risk that your stuff will drop in price and you will lose World Locks. I don't think that's bad because life itself is a gamble, nothing is of 100% certainty.

Most of young ppl think that adults work for free and games need no money for servers, workers, offices, electricity and who knows what else. They also forget that if there is no money to run this game, this game will shut down servers. In kids world, money doesn't play big part of anything. Later they will learn that money runs the world and nothing is free. But meanwhile, we can't blame them. It is not kids job to stress about the money issues.

argument that Ubisoft needs to make money is stupid. Every company needs to make money, but that doesn’t mean players have to support blatant pay to win features. I’ve been in many gaming communities and this is the first time I see so many people in support of p2w.
