How does it work?
But here’s the catch: you have to RECYCLE pepper to get the gems. If you recycle pepper, on average about 361 pepper trees gives you 2k gems. To account for any margin of error I’m selling pepper trees for 370/wl.
During harvest fest I made 20 pepper farms and harvested each of them 5 times, so they have about 50k pepper each. I’ll use a gscan in each farm before I sell them. Here’s how the farms look like:

This is a video I made a few months ago recycling 48.3k pepper, and I got 268k gems:

I would have sold the 48.3k pepper for 130 wls because 48300/370 = 130. So 130 wls ==> 268k gems. Easy profit. It only took about 18 minutes to recycle all the pepper (faster if you are on PC).
Proof I am trusted:
