Is science profit method still worth it and if so whats the recommended amount of science stat needed?

To be honest, no. The profit you gain from it should be 10-20 WL/day as it's very low if you spend 5-6 DLs for the world. I suggest you go for Science Station only if you have a short hours to play this game. If you have more, I'd say you better go farming, massing, or trading. This is personal opinion, cmiiw*.
