Real Talk abt growtopia and its language barriers

im not sure if its only me? but 80% of the worlds that i go to is almost ALWAYS indo and maybe turkish at times and i dont know if we can do anything abt it and i know indos dont know how to speak english very well but can there be something done to help this situation? because?? idk man its getting tiring and not fun to go in a world and find out its all indo lmao

Them: Apa?
Me: Sorry i dont speak indo, can you speak english?
Them: *indo words that i definetely dont understand*

No offense but indonesians has invaded growtopia and its kinda sad. I can rarely see people from other countries because almost all of the population is indonesians.

I’m not even trying to discriminate but talking in a language I don’t understand all the time is disrespectful, sure you may be horrible at English and it’s embarrassing but I was the same, if not worst when I first started playing.
At least if you’re trying to trade in a public world try and speak in English so that people around you don’t feel bad.

Most online games have a rule of not speaking another language in chats, so something like that should be implemented to maybe the broadcasting system so that it isn’t filled with other languages.

yeah but it will be better if we use google translate files or help from FORUMERS,it will increase accuracy,but this thing is hard and GT programmers just focus on hacks and stuff,so this thing will not exist,unless it become reality

won't say it's disrespectful to be honest, i'm not indonesian but i feel that in a game with more than 60% of the players being indonesian, it won't be too unreasonable to assume that the guy you're speaking to is indonesian, and therefore speak the language that you are both more fluent in.

i used to think that since this is a game made in english, we should all speak english. i still stand by this notion even after feeling that it's a lost cause, but provided that most players are children, and some of these children have limited fluency in english, the only thing we can do is to tolerate it and possibly learn a few common words in the process to understand what they are saying.

i wish it were like that but it might make the indos harder to communicate

The translator could be useful even though it may have alot of problems occuring, but we could give it a try!

The proper Indonesian language may be easy to be translated, but most Indos used the "shorter way" to chat with each other. That makes a single proper word into many various different kinds of other words.

Also: Making it to be a toggleable option in the menu is a good thing too. (?)
