  • Mutant Kitchen Gatcha - a way to boost MK's participation number

Imagine if you were to cook and eat hundreds of Alien Brains Strudels, all to get a stack of blocks you could have easily gotten from consuming the basic Mutated consumables instead.

That's pretty much the main reason players get turned off by Mutant Kitchen as a whole. It's definitely not because the items are unappealing or "too gross". In fact, the removed items are pretty high in-demand — the Giant Eye Head is, perhaps, the most prominent example of this. It's hard to see Mutant Kitchen receiving any boost in participation when those items are made unobtainable and got replaced by hastily-designed knockoffs.

The reason I'm posting this thread is to propose a quick and efficient solution to end this issue and bring more participants to this event — one item that could easily be done in a single day of work: the Mutant Kitchen Gatcha!

The Gatcha system is fairly new to Growtopia; the Ubi team has currently implemented a total of five of them, spread between various events:
    - Block De Mayo Block (Cinco De Mayo Week 2020)
    - Golden Party-In-A-Box (Anniversary Week 2019)
    - Pineapple Root Gatcha (Super Pineapple Party 2020)
    - Super Golden Booty Chest (Valentine's Week 2020)
    - Super Summer Surprise (SummerFest 2020)

(there are also the Locked and Loaded Gatcha and Surgery Gatcha, though they are not obtained in the same way as the event-restricted Gatchas)

The way Gatchas work is rather simple. By participating in an event (e.g. breaking 20 Summer Surprises), players would get a single block/consumable, which they could break or consume, respectively, in order to receive a randomly-picked rare reward. A Mutant Kitchen Gatcha should probably be obtained in a similar way; consuming 10 advanced Mutated consumables or 20 basic Mutated consumables should allow the player to claim 1 Mutant Kitchen Gatcha.

How does adding a Mutant Kitchen Gatcha solve anything? Let's go back to the original situation. If you had consumed hundreds of Alien Brains Strudels and didn't receive any of the rare rewards (i.e. Omegalul or Puggly), you would still have a chance to recover your loss by selling the Gatchas. Or, in the case you would still like to test your luck again, you could try consuming them yourself and perhaps get the prized The Beast with a Thousand Eyes Mask, or maybe one of the new Growtopian Crawlipede!

Yes, as you can see in the image below, the loot table for the Mutant Kitchen Gatcha would include ALL the removed old items:

And, if possible, a couple of mutated new ones:

Extra notes: Comes with a punch effect of player heads being thrown.

So, how does that sound? Even if you ignore adding the new items (can't see why though), you can simply carry through by adding ONE item that reuses an existing mechanism, therefore easily convincing more players to participate in Mutant Kitchen (you know, you could even slip in an IAP or two if you want to, Ubi).

^^ Your typical moderately-sized reward claim button; its presence on the screen would also entice unknowing players to find out more about the event.

    -------

Q: These items are too gross for Growtopia!
A: Pick a random item from Halloween Week, and another one from Gross-Out. The chance is, the one from Halloween would be as equally vile as the one from Gross-Out.

    -------

In short, adding a Mutant Kitchen Gatcha would greatly minimize one's risk of losing WLs and resources when participating in the event, thus getting more people in general to join in the horrific fun! Feel free to leave some feedback below.

That, actually, is a nice idea. The sprite of the box edited by you, also, is dope.
