Default There should be absolutely no punishment for BUY world owners who ban people

Unpopular opinion here: just find another world!

I don't know how BUYCRYSTAL came under ownership of whoever owns it (I have no idea because it doesn't matter), but it's their world, and they can do whatever the hell that want with it. And essentially what's happening is that Ubisoft it catering to lazy bastards who, instead of creating another world, advertising it and eventually prospering from it, are demanding that their job is done for them, at the expense of original owners. Pathetic. The all powerful team is catering to an angry mob whose demands aren't even reasonable.

Of course, what BUYCRYSTAL owners are doing makes them complete donkeyholes. I don't like it, it's indecent, they don't deserve the world, yada yada, but there are two reasons why I think that it's not worth it to punish them for it.

First of all, they're acting in their rights, as I said. It would be fair to punish them if that limited someone else. It doesn't limit anyone. Sure, it makes it harder for people to trade, but the whole BUY world thing was never a part of game design and it has no value other than that people give to it. In the end, if the owner is punished for anything, it's for being selfish, and last time I checked we aren't living in a totalitarian socialist dystopia.

Secondly, if the staff makes it clear that the situation won't change, then people eventually will come up with an alternative that will work. It's like the difference between me begging my teacher to give me free credit, and me studying to get it fairly; it's best for me in the long run if I choose the second option. Simple as that.

By the way, Billboard mechanic is great. I love the concept. As long as it isn't involved in this story, I have no problem with it, may anyone ban anyone.

Anyway, thanks for reading another one of my threads, sorry for not making them for a while, been busy. As always, bookmark the page, reply, and subscribe to my profile.

Edit: my mind is changed a little, see below.

I agree that he can ban people. But when you have already exploited the royal lock in every single way and youre banning people from for using the billboard that is just too much. Im referring to the owner of BUYCRYSTAL with the "you".

You would need an infinite amount of dls to keep another world semi alive.
This space is empty, just like the space in my skull.

True, but maybe after enough SBs from famous enough people it'll work. I'm sure there's a way if one is smart enough.

If it was that easy it would be solved by now.

I strongly agree in case of BUYCRYSTAL and such type of worlds; however in case of BUYPRISTINE it doesn't seem fair, as it's biased towards certain guilds and may generate an unfair environment for guilds to compete in. I think Ubisoft should have locked the world before the guild thing even begun and make it neutral, but now it's too late for that.

So you know that your opinion is subject to an unpopular and superficial belief, but you still create a new thread for the attention?

Okay, I can't come up with a comeback for this one.

I'll give up on the thread title and suggest a mild punishment. The kind of punishment that wouldn't limit the owners too much and still retain the spirit of Growtopia, but introduce some fairness. I'm thinking of a message box that shows up before entering the world (with cooldown of a few minutes) saying "this world has been unfair to buyers, it's recommended that you try another one; are you sure?". Kind of like quarantining a subreddit. This will encourage more people to look for alternatives, making alternative creators' jobs easier.

The owners can still do whatever they want and they won't be policed. They can appeal by fixing the issues and messaging Support at any time. In the appeal they must make a promise to not do that again, creating a legitimate reason for their ban in the future if they limit trading again.
