Default [MERGED DISCUSSION] BFG World Anti-Autofarming Measure

Ok, I appreciate the fact that something is trying to be done to prevent people from autofarming blah blah blah. In fact, I actively ban autofarmers from my world whenever I'm there if I notice something is clearly up. But please explain how am I supposed to tell if someone's autofarming if they look like everyone else? I can't monitor a world if I don't know what to look for. I may as play the game with my eyes closed and a knife in my hand.

Please don't give me that copy-paste response, that doesn't answer the question. I understand everything that was said in that copy-paste response, it just seems like worlds are getting banned if owner's don't ban autofarmers, doesn't explain how I'm supposed to find them.

Best bet is to Disable magplants for a couple of minutes, and check for people still punching at nothing. (This is what i usually do for my Free/Rent BFG.)

It's not a water-proof idea, but it's the best imo. If you have a rent bfg, Make sure you tell people it's not allowed, and if someone msgs you that they suspect someone of auto, check right away.

    Hello Awesome,

You can try to communicate with them, do random stuff to get their attention. To tell if it's really an autofarmer though you can sense some patterns which should be constant.

Sometimes, you may even find a friend who might betray the autofarmer and tell you their true identities! Who knows

Here's a tip, you can pull the autofarmer to you and if he stops moving it's a bot (esp. if does not respond to you) and normally real players they will respond to you when you talk to them. Plus if they look suspicious just kick them out just to be safe.

Again, this is unthoughtful. They can just turn it off and on while responding. Nobody is going to false punishing people for the sake of being paranoiac.
Just make the rule affect worlds that aren't pointing out through a notice. That way you can't say they are allowing it to happen so the worlds that lack of those can be taken care of. Because let's be honest, another layer of checking when even mods have doubts to figure out whether somebody is autofarming or not doesn't help.
No reliable way to check and enforce means it's easily abused...

Autofarmers are not as dumb as they seem. Most of them are very smart and are always keeping a lookout in case the owner tries to catch them red-handed.
Pulling them is the worse option ever because both autofarmers and non autofarmers will obviously stop moving. You’d be banning an innocent player instead. They tend to increase their volume up so they can hear if they are being pulled or not.

Adding on to that, turning off the magplant for a few seconds may help but what if there’s more than 1 autofarmers in the world? They will all start to stay alert and stop their autofarming thing as soon as we turn off the magplant again.

I’ve been doing this job for more than 20 times already. My BFG is a paid BFG and sometimes we do not have time to check on autofarmers because there are customers and time is money. It’s not that we allow autofarmers but it’s just not that easy to spot one. There’s one time my BFG is all filled with Autoclickers, 12 to be exact(full house in my world). Of course I got a lot of free gems but what I’m saying is there’s just too many for us to focus on and nagyon little time till we need to refill our magplant again.

    maybe u wrote lil wrong
    After pulling Player :
I understand if player continues Repeating to try add blocks & break without any stopping = BOT not noticing where he/she is.
I understand if player Stops and asks "Why i was Pulled?" - its Real player in control

Please god no... owners are not the only ones suffering from this, I get called a hacker 2~3 times a day because people don't understand you can break faster on pc if you use the spacebar. If owners did this I would be getting kicked all the time.

Could work, but I'd prefer not to stop the magplant every 5 minutes, especially since mine is a free BFG and anyone can walk in at any time. If it means not having to get my worlds banned, then perhaps I should. As for signs which tell people not to autofarm, there are people in this world who don't like to follow the rules and never will.

Usually, they call you a scammer for pulling them out and taking their gems and they report you for it. Also, please post "tips" in the actual thread since I assume you want people to stop autofarmers rather than just here.

Why not? It's not a hard task. Simple hit mag once, tell them it's an "AUTO CHECK", and people will be okay with it. I've done this alot before on my Payed bfg, and now i'm still using it in my Free bfg.

    Default Explain the rules better...

For real, I own a BFG and it's free, no rent. I can't monitor it 24/7 so there will be allways a risk of someone doing auto when I'm not watching. Some will even slip through while I'm in the world... does this means I get punished for other players behaviour?!

Ubisoft devs are putting the responsibility of monitoring illegal actions on players who ain't doing anything wrong. So now we all owning a bfg have to do mod work for free and get punished if we don't. Why don't they do this consequently and ban all who owns a world where illegal activities are taking place? How is this different from buy-worlds full of autospammers? Punish the owner because ppl use auto stuff... It's the same logic... I'm just making an argument here, I don't se the difference...

So all bfg owners must be police and get mandatory mod-work or else risk losing their items... thats what I read when It says we have to monitor it... if I misunderstood then explain so we know the rules.

I want to continue having a free bfg and I will ban ppl doing auto. I'm still afraid I lose my mags because I miss some doing this... and still feel uneasy about how this game is turning into... when players who play by the rules risk all because of others...

Tell me how is this different from autospammers in a buy+world. Just to make an argument, how come only bfg owners get to assume responsibility for other players using bots but not all other worlds who ain't being monitored by their owners... there are tons of bots advertising casinos in buy+worlds... thats just as illegal as autopunch... or?... why don't punish those owners too? See how stupid and unfair it sounds? It's the same logic!

If you expect us to hunt them autofarmers, give us the tools to do so. Else, don't ask us to do that.

Managing BFG"s takes heavy toll in arranging and keeping check Trollers and hackers from a day to day basis, while the point to eradicate hacking and autofarming is significantly shown in its interest it's just the execution to uphold these rules that are way too much out to reach. Take note that BFG Owners including admins will have no way to keep in vision people entering from a daily basis as soon as the world opens public, while making a private BFG for close friends could be the most sensible solution it won't be practical to those opening for free for the sane purpose of having no time to guard and work off on working hours.

Keeping them out of one wouldn't permanently stop them as world transferring is an option, and banning wouldn't be a far less better solution as it is, being as there would be hundreds of auto farmers farming as we speak. Given the new rule as a straight forward approach to avoid it as a whole, it's a big risk in take in sacrificing time to those breaking and managing worlds.

tl;dr Given that the objective is really shown determined for eradication is a positive feed back, yet execution is flawed for drawbacks far resulting in more casualties than for the good.

A BFG world always have an average of 10 players farming. It wouldn’t be difficult to check through each of them because they’re in a room. Unless you’re referring to the ones that the owner placed a public huge lock, that wouldn’t be a problem because autoclickers won’t waste their time there anyway.

Banning them is very effective because it takes time to find a Free BFG, sometimes there’s none. I know this because players keep coming back to my world to pay for a room even though they teased me earlier for hosting a paid BFG.

Default Bfg worlds vs buy+ worlds and how it can be easily abused

When mods catch an autofarm in their world,
    1st time = warn owner
2nd time = world is banned for 30 days
3rd time = world is banned for 60 days
4th time = world is banned forever

What about buy+ worlds? They have spammers in them.
Both autofarmers and spammers use bots/macros to do their stuff but why are buy+ worlds not being 'affected' by this rule? There is illegal activity

Also this can be easily abused since people can get/hire autofarmers to get this guy's world perma banned.
hi im snow how you doin?
