True, true. The last time i played was giving my stuff and selling some stuff to growtopians and our convo was like:

Me: Hi, buy my diamond wings for 2 worldlocks
    Them: Apa?
Me: Sorry i dont speak indo, can you speak english?
Them: *indo words that i definetely dont understand*
Me: *leaves the world and visits another one*
Inner me: The heck. Indos again?!

No offense but indonesians has invaded growtopia and its kinda sad. I can rarely see people from other countries because almost all of the population is indonesians.

I AGREE but there will be a problem because if the translation is inaccurate then it may cause unnecessary drama

I’m not even trying to discriminate but talking in a language I don’t understand all the time is disrespectful, sure you may be horrible at English and it’s embarrassing but I was the same, if not worst when I first started playing.
At least if you’re trying to trade in a public world try and speak in English so that people around you don’t feel bad.

Most online games have a rule of not speaking another language in chats, so something like that should be implemented to maybe the broadcasting system so that it isn’t filled with other languages.

yeah but it will be better if we use google translate files or help from FORUMERS,it will increase accuracy, but this thing is hard and GT programmers just focus on hacks and stuff,so this thing will not exist, unless it become reality

won't say it's disrespectful to be honest, i'm not indonesian but i feel that in a game with more than 60% of the players being indonesian, it won't be too unreasonable to assume that the guy you're speaking to is indonesian, and therefore speak the language that you are both more fluent in.

i used to think that since this is a game made in english, we should all speak english. i still stand by this notion even after feeling that it's a lost cause, but provided that most players are children, and some of these children have limited fluency in english, the only thing we can do is to tolerate it and possibly learn a few common words in the process to understand what they are saying.

😞✊ sadly true, i just hope that maybe indos can try and learn more english so they can communicate easier

The translator could be useful even though it may have alot of problems occuring, but we could give it a try!

The proper Indonesian language may be easy to be translated, but most Indos used the "shorter way" to chat with each other. That makes a single proper word into many various different kinds of other words.

Also: Making it to be a toggleable option in the menu is a good thing too. (?)
Quitted growtopia and forums, but I'm still active on Forumers United discord server.

What I learned few years ago is to ask players how to say some basic stuffs. We need to adjust because knowledge can be kept forever.

    Indonesian basics:
Beli - Buy (ex. Beli lava - Buy lava)
    Apa - What
    Saya - Me/I
    Menjual - Sell
    Mau - Want

For instance, (ex. Saya beli horse - I buy horse)

Almost half (or maybe even more) are indo kids who probably can't speak very much english and if they're like six then you can't exactly expect them to know a ton of english or be able to rapidly become fluent. Instead, maybe instead of always expecting others to change to fit your needs and expectations, maybe you should also try and learn a bit. I've picked up on a bit of indo (definitely not enough to hold a full conversation, but enough to buy/sell with them), and it's really helped a lot. Most people in primarily english speaking countries are only monolingual, and that has a lot of barriers not just in games and such, but in the real world too when you're talking to a customer who barely knows any english, or trying to negotiate a trade deal, which is why I personally have been learning four extra non required languages (our high school only needs you to be fluent in english and take one more foreign language)

Indonesian little kids.. The people I absolutely don't like for these reasons:

    They CONSTANTLY ask for donations.
    REALLY toxic
the most part of autofarmers are little indonesian kids that don't know what it means to autofarm, so they say "Me use autoklik no autofarm".
They think that the whole world knows their weird language, so they decide to speak it instead of English.
Really annoying when I for example sell anything, they start to speak in their weird language that I can't understand.

Not racist, but that's how I experience them.

Indonesian people over 15 are cool though, since they speak somewhat understandable English, etc.

it doesn't help that some indonesians don't even understand other indonesians sometimes due to different dialects..google translating is also pretty hard since they usually talk with mostly slangs and shortened words

source : i speak malay and you could say that it is indeed a "dialect" of indonesian

Most of them are children, wait about a year or less and the trend will die. Trust me, Indos is just playing trending games and if the trend dies they just leave it like it was nothing.

Are you serious? If that was the case, there wont be many indo playing this game by now
The game has been trending/popular since 2013 at Indonesia
