I'm against korea on this one. Their court ruling against something 50 years ago is unjustified.

The ban only affects south korea -Samsung and Sk as the report says. Apple is unaffected, as well as the numerous chinese phones. To say it disrupts global supply is an overstatement.
Furthermore, it isn't a total ban, and simply the addition of permits needed to be aquired, and possibly a quota. Samsung should have their own stockpiles to last it out too.
Lastly, it's unclear if the ban is against south korea, or will samsung totally be blacklisted. Samsung will surely have some factories outside korea, so it's uncertain if Japanese companies can continue exporting to those.

Let's just hope that japan will remove that supply restriction, and help USA, and South Korea for removing nuclear weapon in north Korea....

The smartphone and these rare elements industry shouldn't take up a huge percentage of the the country's economy. Both countries will survive and talk it out. You're overreacting.

CNN article states only 45% of HF is taken from japan. They'll survive. Russia should provide the other 2 instead.

Because this is very serious problem....

For the stock article I can't provide you, because you can't read neither Korean nor japanese...
But for stock ppl how are doing business are getting all the semiconductor...(why? because the price will rise due to high demand and low supply)
While japan's stock or companies are getting damaged because most of the Korean people are
not buying japan's products, also they are not selling it... Plus some of the companies that makes gadget or tech stuff in japan didn't wanted this restriction...

So some of the owner of company visited Korea and talked to Korean president...
