Default Gambling in Growtopia and my problems with the game literally being "unplayable"

Let me just say this beforehand : I am not ashamed to admit that I am an actual gambling addict in real life and that I have lost thousands of dollars playing on virtual casinos.

This thread is to diss on how easy it is to literally go into a "casino parlor" in the game and just gamble all your locks away in a whim, not to mention how f**king easy it is to get away with it without any punishments whatsoever.

There are a lot of reasons of why I had a gambling addiction (before I played this game) in the first place, namely availability, anonymity, accessibility, and affordability.

    Availability
This is literally the number 1 cause of why I have a gambling addiction, because casinos simply exist. Moving on.

    Anonymity
Virtual casinos are illegal (tbh casinos in general) in some countries, including mine. But the benefits of a casino being virtual is that they can abuse loopholes and some don't require a national ID number (because it's illegal).

    Accessibility
Along with anonymity, this works because you don't need to be above the age to actually play in a casino.

    Affordability
Yeah, you might think that betting like a few dollars are fine, but it's enough to trigger a gambling addiction. Take it from a gambling addict who literally experienced the same thing.

With that said most of these resemble a lot with those in Growtopia, and that casinos are literally EVERYWHERE, hosters are always changing accounts, how it is really easy to just go into a world and say "gAs qQ 3dL", and not to mention the loophole of "world locks have no real world value" by banning cash trading, thus making it a "child-friendly game" and gambling and selling all your items away in the process. These people who conduct these actions have a "if you're already doing something illegal that would get you permanently suspended, might as well break the rules as severely as possible" mindset.

The main reason I'm making this thread is for the sake of myself : I don't want my gambling addiction to come back, after seeing how tempting it is to win virtual locks.

If Ubisoft actually cared about the game and its players alike, they would find a concrete solution by now. It has been 2 years and nothing significant has changed.

Caisnos were and continue to be a problem in Growtopia. I agree with all of your points and how devastating of an effect it can have on someone. Regulating it is difficult but revamping the vegas pack by removing roulette wheels and dice blocks is a good starting point, although they can easily use random number generators online. Increased moderator presence is probably the best solution.

    I have a confession.

I played casino shortly before I joined here on the forums. I wanted to test it for the first time, so the first day I won 15 world locks, the next day, I lost those 15 + I got scammed an extra 5 wls too.

So I stopped doing it. Luckily, I didn't lose tons of more wls, or get banned.

or you know, stop the ****ing number from appearing after you spin it. I get that there are other gamemodes (Blackjack) that don't even require a wheel, but most "highrollers" do use one.

removing an item in game will not serve to stop gambling in general, since there are so many other aspects of the game that can be used in these casinos. you could even, say let the gamblers harvest a dirt tree and determine the winner through the number of blocks dropped from the tree, or even break a dirt block and give prizes based on the items dropped from the block.

this pretty much. It's pointless to remove these items from the game when there are other assets which can be used for gambling. We either have to remove the whole thing or find an alternate solution.

Gamblings won't stop even if you remove roulette wheel or numbers they are showing. There are still many ways to do the same thing, but in different concept. That's why it's not that easy to find a solution to stop it once and for all.

    Hey,

Now of course there is no way to wipeout EVERY SINGLE casino in the game, the moderators are doing their absolute best nuking every casino world that’s reported, the players can do their part by doing /report when they come across any illegal activity, don’t forget to leave the world immediately after reporting so you don’t get punished along with the offenders!

The best thing to do is just to say no to illegal activities. If lesser people participate in illegal activities, there will be lesser people hosting it.

    Cheers!

as easy as it is to say "no", having an addiction previously makes it hard to not just stop by a casino. you can literally just have 1 person monitoring it during peak times (which is also coincidentally the times when mods are asleep back there).

also the fact that you are introducing gambling to young kids which can affect their lives as a whole (can also leak private information due to these casinos being regulated in facebook)

to add : can we have more moderators from certain countries asap, especially countries like indo and ph, i dont care how long but just make it happen

again, addiction is a b1tch, cant go 1 week without visiting a casino let alone ignore spam bots
