Exclamation A friendly reminder to all of you to secure your accounts.

    Hello Everyone!

(I also posted this in Console section since I've seen numerous posts about account security and that's where I'm only focused and active on)

I'd like to address few things regarding account safety and how to fully secure your account.

It has come to my attention that somebody tried to get inside my forum account (I have gotten EXACTLY 553 emails from Growtopia Support that someone tried to get inside my account and each one had different IP's for it) and (probably) had malicious deeds and I'm probably not the only one who fell and will fell for this attempt to gain access to my account. Fortunately I keep my account secure and I ALWAYS look better methods and ways to keep my account more secure than it already is and I can teach you guys how.

The first and most important thing is to not use the same password in different platforms and/or sites.

    - The most biggest rule of all is not to use the same password everywhere, if someone gains access to one of your accounts that means that he/she will gain access to ALL of your accounts. That's why you should use different passwords everywhere, EVEN if you do get hacked or brute-forced, at least you only lost one account of numerous other accounts.

Second is not to use something which is easy to guess or something like QWERTY or 123456

    - Use something which is really hard to guess and remember. YES if you have a password which is impossible to remember, it's as same as impossible to crack. Here's a VERY well made guide on how to secure your password and explains it really well. (Has tons of variety of different methods to choose from aswell)
    https://www.howtogeek.com/195430/how...d-remember-it/

Have 2FA on (If it's possible)

    Playstation 2FA
    https://www.playstation.com/en-us/ac...-verification/

    and XBOX 2FA
Here's a guide for XBOX on how to turn it on

    https://www.telesign.com/turnon2fa/t...for-xbox-live/

    and Nintendo 2FA
    https://accounts.nintendo.com/login?...Fauthenticator

    - 2FA (2-Factor Authentication) is if not THE BEST method on how to FULLY secure your password, combined with a mobile app which generates a new code every 15 seconds, you're pretty much set for life. Most 2FA apps in your phone are ONLY accessible in your phone (You can't log into anywhere else at the same time) but if you lose your phone there's multiple ways to retrieve that 2FA account back. Which consist of (Messaging your number the secret code) + having a (username + password) for to login to your 2FA account. You can even TRIPLE the security to the point where you need a 3rd password to get access to the authentication code inside the app as well.

Having a secret MAIL account dedicated to your entire database of accounts.

    - It may seem unsecure but using all of the methods which are mentioned up here will give a VERY secure Mail account for all your password forgotten + storing your account needs. You should definetly secure your mail account the most as it stores your database + all of your important files/mails as well.

    Changing your password every month

    - Might seem like a big hussle but it pays off definetly! Changing your password every month or 2 is as same as 2FA how it changes your code every 15 seconds (Well not really but it's CLOSE to it) That will minimalize your chances of getting brute-forced into your account. As I said, if it's impossible to memorize, it's impossible to crack.

You can also store your passwords somewhere where you have only access to and has a extra set of security (Such as in a notepad [just don't name it passwords or something like that] in your work PC at home in where you do not download any sort of suspicious 3rd party softwares) also having a password on top of it which isn't easy to guess just gives you top notch security as well. naming it something without context + not putting info on where you used it (Well you can just put some sort of memorizing words like for an example for growtopia you can [ Harvest/Grow: PitchBlackItISfor54yoU ] it may seem something weird for someone else but for the creator it's a magical spell that is quite unbreakable) It's like making your own language ONLY you understand.

I hope it's some help to some of you and actually reconsider having more security as this is why this thread is all about.

Something new everyday might strive you a better tommorow.

Epic games! Good guide but no 2FA and the only way to hack someones account would be to hack their PSN (on PS4) which is imensely hard and I doubt someone is gonna hack Sony's PSN for a small Growtopia account.

    Sarcastic or not.

I'm doing this on my free will and not expecting anything return. Making threads like these, doing a good deed every once in awhile is the right step foward.

If I'd ever even become one, I'd not moderate under my name as I'd like to enjoy the experience of being me, myself. So even if I ever did you'd not know that

Last bump to end the thread, Hopefully I reached enough people to think twice over their account security (not just Growtopia wise but around Internet in general.
