Depends.. I have answers to both sides

I myself would really wanna bring the community back to what it was years ago, and I feel that with moderator powers, it really is gonna be fun running bfgs and punishing auto breakers to teach kids to work hard for their stuff.... Also it's gives me alot more publicity to host large scale community events to bring the community back together, and you know moderator powers, I believe I can make a positive impact to that large majority of rule breakers lying around right now in their "team worlds" as well as auto breakers.

I wouldn't due to even though I want to help the community, just the impression of moderators isn't that good nowadays, I really want to improve the community, but I don't believe I can do so if my reputation is ruined by being associated with the ubimods, as much as mod powers are good for punishing rule breakers, it's useless to always have the community find faults in them and never be able to come clean and gain the community's support

Me Personally: GOD NO, I enjoy playing the game as a normal person not as an employee that has hours to work, I also would have no time to moderate...
    I want to...
    But I think I can't.... (I don't play growtopia that much)
Reason why I want to be a mod.
    1. I can clearly see a lot of spammers, spam sellers
    2. CSN owner and admin...
    3. Some times there might be unfair ban...
    4. Sb that wasn't against rules...
(like *#&@ you mod) That is not bad word nor bad thing... Sometimes they get ban by that...
    5. I just want to...

If you on your own free will, apply, why would refuse it? How dumb is that?

Sure, why not. I never login anyway; it would be a good incentive.

It would be like pulling weeds from the garden and seeing them always grow back. I also realized I can do a lot as a regular player. I can't control everything, but i can control the world's I own and in those places the dark side of GT cannot exist.

I was so obsessed with the idea of being a moderator I took a year off from the game. Now I enjoy playing again and being an unknown grinder.

There will always be people that break the rules no matter how many you ban. I just think that must be frustrating a little bit. If you want to spend time with people you get spammed. The only cool part if you get your own item.

I think most people want to be a moderator because they care about the community and want to make a difference. I just don't believe it can be done.

I don't desire to be a moderator anymore. I still would accept the position if asked.
Eh, you probably could have done well as a moderator. The problem was administration: selecting only players with the “secret sauce”, as Hamumu called it, only to have a good fifty percent of their hand-chosen paragons of virtue either abuse their powers or leave a few months into their responsibility. Yet the admins insisted moderators were a special breed, and they were the only ones with the eye to discern the type?

Anyone impartial, good-natured, and willing to fulfill the responsibilities of a moderator make a perfect moderator. There is no “special sauce” — there never was. You would have been a decent moderator, but they refused to select you because you announced your desire for the position.

Ah, but now we have the opposite problem. Ubisoft has selected people incapable of the position, heavily-biased, each enforcing their own set of rules — and lots of them! Meanwhile, the remaining oldies are being ousted and purposely left out of the loop. It does not feel genuine; we are not being moderated by people who we share the community with, and the evidence out there proves it. Becoming a moderator has not the same merit, and it honestly is tiresome to observe the missed opportunities from both ownerships of the game.

Ah, but I digress. I merely intended to succinctly say that your failed attempt at becoming a moderators had almost nothing to do with any fault of yours.

Ahah, i also remember being very obsessed with the thought of being a mod, but then pushed the idea aside. I remember getting frustrated, sad and a bit disappointed when i saw Hamumu's 'special sauce' comment,. because i didn't see the 'special sauce' with me that he was talking about. I thought i wasn't a fit for the role if i got disappointed this easily. So, i stopped thinking about it. And like every other person said in this section, it woud be very tiring to get spammed everytime you log on, people worshipping you like you are a god or something, and constant hate against you.

And a question, why is announcing your desire for a poisition a bad thing? Sure, there will be people that will want moderation for only the power, but they should easily realise that? So why is Hamumu talking about it like that?

i’d accept but i’d never ask for it. i’ve been playing since early 2013 and i feel like i’ve experienced enough the years. yet again, playing as a normal player is still a privilege

I personally chose yes because I'd rather be stopping scams that are being online during my time range of being online than farming and seeing people get scammed 35 wls (cough prismitic aura scam)

It's a great opportunity to help out the community, but I don't wanna become a moderator for now, because it's a huge responsibility and I wouldn't want to attract a lot of attention, and I enjoy Growtopia as a regular player, to be honest.
