It's the only way to kick those naughty players out, if you want to survive then be innocent and kind.

Swearing rarely is okay, but swearing alot and always is too much and I guess will get banned.

or if you have a world that has a story that is not for kids and its closed for months will you get suspended forever?
Who would make a story world that is SPG? I mean, that is bad. It will be nuked and you wont be banned unless YOU are the owner of the world.

As long as you follow the rules you are fine.
Those people that you see getting banned and then shouting they did nothing are obviously lying, they played with fire and got burnt and now they won't admit to their mistakes thinking that will fix anything.
The rules are there to read first thing when you start playing and if you can't follow them then you shouldn't play

For vulgarities or inappropriate language used, usually Moderators/Ubistaff would give a warning before banning a player...
For rule-breakers, such as drop games, casinos, etc, there’s nothing much we can do, since they did not acknowledge the rules beforehand which Ubisoft/moderators keep emphasising.

In most cases they give you a warning for fowl language, if you continue, they may tape you or even ban you for a short while.

The punishments should also serve as an example for others not to do it, and that's why some may consider it as a bit cruel.

from what i see now, even joking about sexual stuff with friends (not EVERYONE in the game) could get you banned or even a suspension

i do think the ban system is too harsh and i think ubisoft has to balance it.

I don’t think it’s the banning system. Ubisoft needs to train the new mods on when and when not to give a suspension/Long term ban.

Yes they do have a ban system but obviously they’re not trained enough to be taught how to properly enforce that system.

People of a variety of ages play Growtopia. If a parent of a young child finds out thier child was in a world reading an inappropriate story containing adult themes chances are they will be upset. They will not spend money on the game or allow thier child to play any more.

They will tell other parent they know that Growtopia is not appropriate for kids and those parents will not allow thier children to play and also decide not to spend money on the game. Also all those parents will possibly complain to support and leave bad reviews.

Growtopia is much like a public restaurant. Even though a variety of people eat there I think the owners will frown upon and remove anybody being inappropriate disturbing other customers.

Your friend made a world but most likely it was public that anyone could go and read his inappropriate story. People could also broadcast and draw more attention to the world.

Moderators can't be everywhere. Chances are they are monitoring the more populated worlds for problems. Chances are that a joke between two friends isn't going to be seen as much as two friends saying stupid junk in worlds that have a lot of other people around them.

My point being that people have a right to enjoy the game free of toxic and inappropriate behavior. They deserve the right to go to a public restaurant and eat free of toxic and inappropriate behavior.

I also really believe that chances are that the people who are getting punishments are the ones making a fool of themselves in popular world's and are not in a world alone with just a friend.

Your friend may of thought his world was funny and not a big deal but in reality it has a negative effect beyond his capability of understanding. If he understand how it could negativity impact other people he would of kept his story out if the game because it doesn't belong.

my friend was suffering from mental condition that time and he closed the world after
and my point is the punishment for it is too harsh. like what is duct-tape for?what is nuke for? what is warning for? give people warning or ban them for a length of time 60 day would be too harsh but its better than perma suspension. they need to be teached on how to use ban like they are banning almost everyone 730days (which is perma)

I don't really go into the discussion of fairness often. I don't have enough money to buy the game and adjust rules the way I want it. That means if I want to play the game I have to adhere to thier rules.

I don't know if it's fair or not. The rules explain clearly what they will ban you for but they never give specifics as to severity and lengths of bans. We can assume things by what happens to other players when they are punished but we won't ever have the exact details to reach a solid conclusion.

I think the opinion on fairness is drastically different when it comes to who you ask. I would think that most people who received bans would say it's unfair. I never see a person post an apology saying they deserved what they got.

I supposed if you asked somebody who doesn't get banned I am sure they don't care or fine with everything because they won't break the rules.

I suppose if you ask Ubisoft they think it's fair because that is how they are running things. The good thing is that people are understanding that Ubisoft doesn't play around and they will think twice about breaking any rules.

Nope I'm cool with it. As long as you don't go around asking for trouble, you'll have literally nothing to worry about. Besides, declaring harsh punishments is the only way some rule breakers would ever learn their lesson.

Also, harsh punishments are only for those who commit serious crimes and really deserve it, like ban evading and so on.

Oh yea, and to those who were banned permanently from the game and have lear'nt their lesson, they can always try out the console versions of the game, for a chance to redeem themselves.

It went too far with our expectations.

The reason that it became harsh in my opinion is because of the increase of not disciplined rule-breakers.

so youre gonna buy them an xbox or ps4? because not everyone is rich also harsh punishment is not the only way for them to learn their lesson so youre saying if you have childrens and then one of then dropped a cup of water you would hit him with a stick all day? and lock him up in his room for a week?

Nope, swearing won't get you "banned forever." In fact, swearing isn't illegal unless it meets other criteria (note, this isn't an entire list):
    • In a BC/CB/SB.
    • To a certain degree of being excessive.
    • Used to insult someone - this includes racist, homophobic terms etc.

Dependent on the offence you'll likely either receive a silence, a broadcast ban or a short game-ban for the more severe situations.

However, inappropriate stories never have been taken lightly and never will. Anything sexually-oriented has always been dealt with severely and it's not something we want in the game at all. It's blatantly clear that sexual-content isn't at all tolerated. Creating stories containing sexual content will lead to a suspension, and that won't change.

Not many offences lead to a permanent suspension, but the ones that do are the ones that we - including Ubisoft - see as serious crimes. Hacking, DL/account trading, ban evading, extreme sexual content, exploiting game mechanics (such as tournament boosting, for example) & casino hosting are some of these crimes.
