It's the only way to kick those naughty players out, if you want to survive then be innocent and kind.

if people swears do they get banned forever?
Swearing rarely is okay, but swearing alot and always is too much and I guess will get banned.

or if you have a world that has a story that is not for kids and its closed for months will you get suspended forever?
Who would make a story world that is SPG? I mean, that is bad. It will be nuked and you wont be banned unless YOU are the owner of the world.

As long as you follow the rules you are fine.
Those people that you see getting banned and then shouting they did nothing are obviously lying, they played with fire and got burnt and now they won't admit to their mistakes thinking that will fix anything.
The rules are there to read first thing when you start playing and if you can't follow them then you shouldn't play

For vulgarities or inappropriate language used, usually Moderators/Ubistaff would give a warning before banning a player...
For rule-breakers, such as drop games, casinos, etc, there’s nothing much we can do, since they did not acknowledge the rules beforehand which Ubisoft/moderators keep emphasising.

In most cases they give you a warning for fowl language, if you continue, they may tape you or even ban you for a short while.

The punishments should also serve as an example for others not to do it, and that's why some may consider it as a bit cruel.

Nope I'm cool with it. As long as you don't go around asking for trouble, you'll have literally nothing to worry about. Besides, declaring harsh punishments is the only way some rule breakers would ever learn their lesson.

Also, harsh punishments are only for those who commit serious crimes and really deserve it, like ban evading and so on.

Oh yea, and to those who were banned permanently from the game and have lear'nt their lesson, they can always try out the console versions of the game, for a chance to redeem themselves.

It went too far with our expectations.

The reason that it became harsh in my opinion is because of the increase of not disciplined rule-breakers.

so youre gonna buy them an xbox or ps4? because not everyone is rich also harsh punishment is not the only way for them to learn their lesson so youre saying if you have childrens and then one of then dropped a cup of water you would hit him with a stick all day? and lock him up in his room for a week?

Nope, swearing won't get you "banned forever." In fact, swearing isn't illegal unless it meets other criteria (note, this isn't an entire list):
    • In a BC/CB/SB.
    • To a certain degree of being excessive.
    • Used to insult someone - this includes racist, homophobic terms etc.

Dependent on the offence you'll likely either receive a silence, a broadcast ban or a short game-ban for the more severe situations.

However, inappropriate stories never have been taken lightly and never will. Anything sexually-oriented has always been dealt with severely and it's not something we want in the game at all. It's blatantly clear that sexual-content isn't at all tolerated. Creating stories containing sexual content will lead to a suspension, and that won't change.

Not many offences lead to a permanent suspension, but the ones that do are the ones that we - including Ubisoft - see as serious crimes. Hacking, DL/account trading, ban evading, extreme sexual content, exploiting game mechanics (such as tournament boosting, for example) & casino hosting are some of these crimes.

I understand you are sad for your friend because he got banned. I understand you want to stand up for him/her. The reality is when you sign up for anything in life you should understand what your getting into. Every person with a Growtopia account must read and agree to the terms and rules listed.

When you signed up for your account you agreed to the terms and rules. If you think it was unfair then you shouldn't have proceeded to make a Growtopia account.

If you buy a car under contract and don't pay the bill it gets repossessed. It doesn't matter if your a good guy and fell on hard times. The car still gets taken.

People sign up and breach the terms they agree to then they suffer penalties they agree with as well. It doesn't matter if they are good or bad people. It doesn't matter if they can change and say they won't breach terms again. What matters is they breached terms of service. You agreed that to play Growtopia and own an account that you won't do certain things with that account. It's that simple.

This is a rule we all agreed with. "Your creations and items could be deleted at any time. We do everything on our power to prevent this, but data loss may happen without warning. Lost items cannot be restored." They can literally destroy my account and there is nothing I can do.

Yea, not all punishments would result in perma bans. But for the more serious rule breakers, there isn't really too much of a choice, for that is the only way they will learn.

Ik, this thread is old but it's funny how I was banned about a week ago for quote on quote "Inappropriate and harsh language" and anyone who doesn't believe me I would send a pic of the mod telling me this to support but I am not allowed to. Shows that the whole GT community/mods only care about famous people. You really think if someone like MrSongo was swearing they would perma ban him like they did to me? Then when I try to make a thread trying to get someone to help everyone says "Go contact support, we cant help you" but if it was someone famous they would be all over him trying to save his butt. And the thing that gets me the most: i was never even given a warning, I was silenced then a day later perma banned. That doesn't make much sense does it? Getting silenced and while silenced getting perma banned? Wasn't the silence a warning basically? I was never unsilenced so i couldn't have kept doing wrong and swearing? Just my opinion. Ik no one cares but just wanted to get it off my chest.

I don't know who spread th rumor, but it's totally wrong, even few months ago one famous youtuber got perma banned because of swearing, i don't really remember his name but he had around 70-100k subscribers. But also about your problem(if it's true (only swearing)), perma ban is too much i think, it's should be max 30days duct tape. So, they also ban famous players if they break the rules..

As said by a famous book author, "should we judge a person based one mistake they made in their life?" I mean think about it. Say you sell literally idk a huge lock for a penny. That's against the rules an suspended able but really it doesn't seem like that much but they get the same punishment as a person who sold 500dls. Perm bans shouldn't exist at all. People are bound to learn from their mistake with a TIMED REASONABLE ban and reason why instead of an upfront perm ban. This is ridiculous.

Sometimes it can go over the top, i agree with you with that, but the purpose of doing so is to at least remove these players out of the community before any negative harm can be done or spread.

There is a somewhat valid reason for Growtopia's extremely harsh punishment system, and that is the game's indended audience. In order to keep the game rated as "y12" or whatever it is, it has to be a clean and inviting place for children to attend.

The average age of a forumer is well above twelve, but you have to remember 90% of the playerbase who you don't really see and are just children playing the game.

Despite all of this, I am not sure if I have seen a single MMO with such a strict punishment system other than perhaps Roblox, who has an even younger target audience.

In the end, you must remember Ubisoft's best interests will always be put before the community, because if those fall, there won't be a game to play in the first place.
