    I cook a lot and been trying to perfect my own Adobo recipe, I think it's part of my identity as a filipino (lmao). Though as much as I would like to share my recipe, I think local ingredients are what makes it special. (Adobo is a must-try! The web is filled with different styles to cook 'em)

    Smile My favorite recipe! :)

    What is your favorite recipe to make / food to have made for you?

    "Sinigang" (pork in sour broth) is a sour soup native to my country. This recipe uses pork as the main ingredient. Other proteins and seafood such as beef, shrimp, fish are commonly used to cook sinigang. I prefer to use either pork belly or "buto-buto" when cooking sinigang. The latter refers to cuts with bones intact. These are either pork neck bones, chopped spare ribs, and chopped baby back ribs. The quality of this dish depends on the souring agent. This is the ingredient that makes the soup sour. The most common and widely used is unripe tamarind. It is known as "sampaloc" in my country. And honestly, the more sour the broth, the better.

    Here's the recipe:
    • This specific recipe uses pork belly as the main protein ingredient. I also use okra, daikon radish, snake beans (sitaw), ong choy (Chinese kangkong), and long green chili peppers (siling pangsigang). I use more vegetables because I just love it.
    • Start to cook sinigang by boiling onions and tomato. This provides flavor to the broth. Do this by boiling water in a wide and deep cooking pot. Add these ingredients after the water boils.
    • Pork belly goes into the pot. Cook it for 25 to 30 minutes between low to medium heat. Add the taro and continue to boil in medium heat for 20 to 30 minutes or until the pork gets very tender. I like it when the "gabi" or taro melts into the soup and creates a thick consistency. This is the reason why I cook it longer. I also mash a piece or two in the middle of the cooking process.
    • I add my Sinigang sa Sampaloc recipe mix (you can obtain this from stores) afterwards. This is my go to ingredient when cooking sinigang. I have been using this since I started cooking. I also cook sinigang using other souring agents such as fresh tamarind (sampaloc), but the convenience and result that this product gives me is remarkable.
    • The seasonings can be added after putting the mix into the pot, or you can do it once the dish is cooked. For this recipe, I added fish sauce and ground black pepper right after the sinigang mix. Daikon radish is also added at this point. Let the radish cook for 5 minutes before adding all the remaining vegetables.
    • I personally love super sour sinigang. For this reason, I use more sinigang mix than what is suggested in the recipe below. If you prefer the same, you can always add more sinigang mix based on your preference. I also like to have a sauce with spicy fish sauce on my side when eating sinigang na baboy.

    Default Weird Recipe but okay..

    So, during summer, I usually make deserts using anything i can find in our pantry and trust me, they dont look edible, but its fun to make.

    Pls, dont try that at home

    Ingredients :
    -ice cream
    -graham crackers
    -ice cream
    -chocolate chips
    -more crackers (the sweet types)

    Procedure:

    Step 1: I usually like to Crush the Crackers first, probably use the blender for better results.

    Step 2: melt the chocolate chips in a microwave on a glass bowl

    Step 2.5: melt the peanut butter as well

    Step 3: mix the crushed crackers, melted chocolate and melted peanut butter to make some sort of texture?

    Step 4: put ALOT of ice cream in the bowl, (not melted) and mix it with the chocolate, once it forms a creamy texture, let it set in a fridge for about 5 to 10 minutes,

    Step 5: take the cooled mixture out and roll it,

    Step 6: Freeze it

    Step 7: Eat it (but seriously, dont.)
