This is the most dumbest and idiotic posts ive seen. The old token system wasnt for the rich. Everyone had a fair chance at getting tokens even its just two. You just lack creativity my friend.

There is some reasons not many people online:
    1. CASINO PLAYERS CAN USE VPN, and some people got suspended (same ip address/etc) and they are kid. Can not read/speak english. I read all 1 star rating on playstore.
    2. So many scammers. And when you got scammed. You will quit gt. I was quit gt so many time because got scammed.
    3. Got hacked. I have instagram with 10k players and everyday people chat me about got hacked.
    4. Bored. If you are PRO/RICH Player/Youtuber/etc, maybe you can enjoy this game. But if you are Breaker/Worker, you will get bored quickly.
    5. Hate growtopia. Because so many Midman-Youtuber got banned. And they IDOL got suspended. They will stop playing growtopia.

    Note:
If you got scammed/hacked, I want say something: If you know How to get rich, You can Rich Again.
If you are bored, Start to be Youtuber/Start your social media (instagram/live stream/etc)
If you got banned/suspended. I can not help you because I can not help All my friend and my family (they got banned/ suspended)
Oh yeah I want say something. Why mods only Copy-Paste text when they reply (in support.ubi.com)

Tokens would have been easy if the old token system ( honors ) exists.

Old token system + roles + Simple daily quests + Simple life goals..

Most of the new updates don't even make sense. For example, the new chat update which is literally POINTLESS. I'm always having difficulty using it because it doesn't make sense. Why would I need 4 different tabs when I can just use the main one. Also, why did they remove /me... This just makes having the Legendary Title useless + How can people know what you're selling if worlds like BUYGHC/SEEDS (or whatever) are constantly being spammed and they can't scroll all the way up because of again, the new changes they've made.

As I have stated and restated on every thread about Growtokens: the community wanted a fix to what was never broken. For those that were not around when tokens were first made available, typical worlds and broadcasts were not so different than now. Worlds consisted of mainly mini-game scam words or redundant parkours with some impossible trivia at the end for a paltry prize. Broadcasts advertised these worlds (before we had a functional cooldown) constantly. This is not so different from the current abundance of casino worlds and nonsensical advertisements for them. However, the community decided the fake mini-games were somehow impeding the game, and the broadcasts impeding their chat window, and the developers listened.

The rating system was even worse. Rating clans intentionally and overtly abused the system (despite ample warning from none other than myself), and this led to people being able to attract “fake” visitors without advertising. Presumably because of this, the system was altered again, replacing the building aspects that make Growtopia’s contemporaries popular and grant longevity to them, with trite, prosaic tasks that are more a hassle than a challenge.

And what else is to be expected of a game that replaces this important creative aspect? The builders are dissuaded to invest their earnings in something that yields no reward — internally or monetarily. Then, the game receives updates that pander toward vapid grinding in order to achieve some massive advantage that is constantly surmounted by the next update. It was inevitable the game became more about profiteering and its economy. Even still, that does not really explain its loss in popularity — it would be dangerous to attribute a massive decrease in active players to the community being forty percent disgruntled builders.

I believe the transfer of the game to Ubisoft, the endless flood of updates complicating the game, and appeal wearing thin generally weakened the player base. While the token change was a horrible decision both times, it did not prevent players for earning Growtokens. In fact, it made earning tokens more reliable and consistent for many who could not afford advertising. A decrease in popularity like that can be attributed to a drastic change, but is not the only cause.

Ubisoft’s perceived poor reputation did not bode well for the game. I remember many players claiming they would swarm to contemporary games — Pixel Worlds being a beacon for them — if Seth and Hamumu no longer owned the game. And Pixel Worlds picked up significantly more momentum (despite being a train wreck) than everyone prophecized.

The amount of updates was daunting as well. At this point, the game had been changed in terms of a player’s capabilities. In previous years, it was possible to “do it all”. One could be a jack-of-all-trades, even if they mastered none. One could be a competent surgeon even if they dabbled in fishing and science stations. However, with constant updates that introduced more and more highest-tier items and a plethora of new mechanics, this rapidly became less and less of a reality. If one needed something, they would have to purchase it from someone who had mastered that skill. While that is how real economies function, Growtopia is far from a real economy. Players were often left out of participating in new updates, which is no fun. I remember isolating myself from the game more during this time.

Lastly, older players were getting old, as was the game. Many forumers in 2013 were the target demographic for this game: about ages ten to thirteen. Four years pass, and not only has the game seen very little variation in terms of concept, but being older, one tends to have less free time to devote to games, especially ones they have been playing for four years, know the ins and outs of, and are growing tired of the same monotonous routine when creative and social aspects are disappearing. As one of those people, I can attest: this is no postulation. I saw and recognized it first hand when a mass exodus of veteran players occurred. Many of them I was acquainted with, and I can only imagine the scale of which that was not portrayed by the forums. That was really the first period wherein players left, but there was no real net gain due to the uncertainty of the game’s fate and the direction it would be taken.

While I have attributed many aspects to the game’s decrease in popularity — some more rounded than others — it is undeniable that the transition of the token system was the blight to a massive aspect of the game that never really received equivalent support later on, but rather was continuously ignored and later even made to be a joke in the eyes of many with half-hearted competitions.
    Been playing Growtopia since 2010.

More improvements are to come (Probably because they asked us for feedback even after the whole update). /ME command isn’t intentionally removed, it is a bug. Idk when they are going to bring it back.

Idk but I feel like they just complicated the game by adding 100+items in 3 months? Back then, I had always wanted one item and not 300+items. Instead of adding new items, maybe work with the community (OLD PLAYERS and not ones that just recently joined the game) They've made growtopia so simple, yet complicated that even a newbie can earn up to 50wls a day(Back then I'd break 15k+grass daily to actually earn wls). What I'm saying is that they should revert back and undo whatever they've done if it isn't working as they planned...

The old token system was both positive and negative. The developers decided at the time the negatives outweighed the positive and the token system was being abused. It only required a world to be filled with people not to be a beautiful or interesting world. Making beautiful and interesting worlds was only one method to attract people. Not every method to attract people to a world was honorable. The negative way of earning tokens did exist.

If you don't want to build amazing world's because you want more of a reward than owning an amazing world you build that is your choice, but I do think that people expressing thier creativity is enough for them and people will continue to build amazing worlds without always worrying about getting paid for it.

The idea behind the original token reward system was a good one but much like every good idea introduced into this game people will find ways to exploit it.

You could be a famous person in this game sitting in a dirt world getting more tokens than somebody who builds an awesome world that no one will visit because they won't get anything from it. You could have built the best parkour but people won't visit if there is no prize at the end.

People will rush to every fake giveaway/fake parkour/OMG mods here or I quit broadcast at a chance it's real over sitting in your amazing world.

If your concern is with gain then do the activities that gain you profit and avoid the creative artistic side of Growtopia. It is possible to create art for others to enjoy without needing a reward.
