There is only one type of people actually farming HTBs - AUTOFARMERS (others who farm it without autofarming are probably misguided into it). The only reason people still use HTBs are because they are the only solid block you can actually stand on because the only purpose of it is to autofarm them (there is also Sorcery Stone, but barely anybody uses them since HTBs are better.)

If you consider amount of gems, punches to break, growth time and buying/selling price chandeliers and laser grids are much wiser options.

This is explaining everything what i just want to say.
But if you want to farm solid block with much higher gems drop, Farm "Magic Bell's". I still see many people doing Magic bell's bfg. Not so many but some people like "Having alot of farm of magic Bell's" are still doing this farm method.

I mean I'm not sure why you would ignore hardness because hardness is a pretty big deal and for me it's a total dealbreaker because the rarity is only 69 and it takes 7 hits to break so the gems/hit value is going to be significantly lower

Laser grids are an excellent substitute and I would recommend getting those instead.

The gems to punch ratio of HTB is puny compared to other farmables. Don't use it. Laser Grids are the best farmables right now.
