Exclamation The game is dying & solutions

There is no doubt that day over day, the player base is slowly being eaten. Players are melting like Ice Glaciers to then be released into the vast ocean of games. Without any radical changes, the worlds will be submerged with inactivity and the chat will become dead like the Koalas and Kangaroos in the ever burning Australia.
Action has to be taken in order to prevent future shutdown. Shutup must be discontinued, and we shall flood the forum with game reviving suggestions. I'm here to ignite that campaign, I'll be that little spark which fires off everything. It is still not too late, we still have time.

Let's first look at the causes of the drop in user count...
    1. Monthly updates have become a week long
The supposed monthly updates have unexpectedly shrank down to one-week use and throw. Most of the content is being released in the first week killing of the hype of the hard-worked update.

    2. Lack of storylines
People love stories. Let there be mysteries in updates. Apart from spamming SoGs, work on creating a kind of "Puzzle" which has to be completed in order to get to the next level.

    3. Redefining the game
Currently, Growtopia has no meaning nor objective at all. How do you expect players to keep playing if they're living in a routine hell.
Due to the nature of the game, one global objective cannot be set - after all Growtopia has no "end". Instead, every month, set a monthly objective which will keep users captivated and aware of the true meaning of the game.

    4. Customer support
It's not really supportive at all. You currently have to wait for a couple of days to a couple of weeks to get a response - if you ever get one. Without even counting the follow-ups disasters.
Work on artificial intelligence a little bit. It's hard in the beginning but it will save you a ton of time and provide a better user experience.

    5. Engagement
At the time of writing, users are feeling left out. Instead of welcoming users with a boring Gazette everytime they logon, present them with a motivating popup warmly welcoming them (with their names written in there), asking them about their experience and feedback.

    6. Lack of motivation
Going back to storylines, for every monthly update, create a mini-trailer to explain what the update is really about. The written Gazette isn't really motivating to read. Add in some dramatic music and spice it up with some captivating animations that will excite the players.

    7. Advertising
Be wise in your advertisements. Google Adsense is currently way better than YouTube or Snapchat ads. It allows you to target way more users. After all, not everyone watches YouTube, but almost everyone browses the web - now full of ads.

    8. The official website
It's slow like a turtle. Work on reducing the data needed to do the first paint. Lazy load unimportant images. Defer unimportant scripts. Serve important CSS inline and lazy load the other stylesheets. Google says that users tend to leave a website that takes more than 3 seconds to load.
Also, add in some "trial" to the website. JavaScript can do wonders today. Create a mini-game that lets users test out a mini-version of Growtopia without actually downloading the game.

    9. In-game AI
As I mentioned earlier, artificial intelligence is the way to go from now on. Use some AI to detect casino worlds, and if detected, shadow nuke the world temporarily so that only the owner and admins can enter it. This will save alot of scams.

    10. Word filters & Regex
Create a real filter that effectively blocks given words. In SBs, use regular expressions to block SBs containing certain patterns like Freenom URLs and phishing YouTube channels.

    11. Constructive criticism
Work on that. Apart from feedback, use constructive criticism to construct a better game.

That's all I have to say. Consider giving me your opinion on that and if you have any additions, we could add them to the main topic too.

It's not true, most of growtopians definitally doesn't like to read stories on growtopia, we can see it from parkour worlds with stories. Also about Update that based on ''Puzzle''. They made Treasure hunt update which is fully based on puzzle but it's died faster than other updates. Only forum players tried to solve these puzzles and in-game normal growtopians were just confused.

Everyone browses the web but are they interested with pixel games? I don't think so, it would be waste of money if they just put ads to everyone to who surf on the net. But with youtube ads, they can target actually pixel or normal gamers.

Regarding paragraph 1; I wasn't talking of that kind of stories. If you continued reading my post, you'd have stumbled accross the "trailer" story.

Regarding paragraph 2; you should read more about targeted ads in Google Adsense.

If you mean something like the Wizard's Staff riddle, I completely agree!

I just don't think any major updates can be done to fix this problem, its the developer's and our fault.

The main thing that made this happen is the only thing we focus on now is our economical status, admit it, we all wanted to get something expensive. Other players abused the system and cheated/scammed others.

Having no respect towards each other and being greedy is one thing we need to fix, which is impossible at this point but one thing to counter is if the developers/moderators is more active and social to players.
Devs and mods should be as active as if it was P.A.W (Super mod dance party) EVERYDAY, interacting with players and overall making the game more fun.

There might be flaws on what I said here but at least I contributed based on what I think should be done.
Anyways, check out my YT Channel, I make the crappiest content out there

As long as Ubisoft is in control, the game will decline.
Sorry to say, but that's the truth.

    Wink Hi

I kinda like the idea but there's also some stuff which Growtopia supporters are working on I'm sure so let's be patient.
I believe in making the impossible possible, because there's no fun in giving up ❤😉
I might not be where I want to be yet but I get closer everyday ❤🤗

    Spoiler 1:
You don't need to follow the story to continue playing. The game will still be a free-to-play game which has the added bonus of attracting inactive people into actually playing the game. Right now everyone's focusing on economy, which makes the game boring to play.

    Spoiler 2:
Not everyone lives at the NASA. Plus Google ranking actually depends on your website's loading speed. It is sufficient to think of regions where internet connection is not really fast.

    Spoiler 3:
If it's possible with the current engine, let them do it. They're here to work on something after all, they're not getting their salaries to watch people play.
However, if it isn't possible, then they may drop the idea.

Not really, with enough effort, they can make something perfect. They just need to have the right mindset and the will to make a better game.

Did you ever experienced the support assistance of other games? If you want a reply less then a day, maybe you should try a game has 50-100k downloads in total lol.
