    Exclamation Important Notice

    Hi all,

Again, we want to emphasise that we're not going to close this topic. Acceptance and tolerance of diversity is important to Ubisoft and personally the idea to educate players on this topic is great. I think it's an important community effort, especially knowing the behaviour of the community and looking at some worlds that can be considered toxic. We understand that some of you may dislike certain minorities due to various reasons or are concerned about the world's content in general due to this topic, but this does not give anyone the right to request this world to be removed or this thread to be closed from the start.

There are a few things to keep in mind though, and this may be reassuring to some of you. Any content, be it in a world or on the forums, that is remotely sexual is going to be removed and punished, we will, like usual, take action, and will not, under any circumstances, make an exception, for no group, be it big or small. Any political discussions, especially on the forums, will not be tolerated.

So, if it comes to be, that we witness inappropriate chats or content in this world, yes of course we will take action. If it abides by the rules, we will not, it's that simple.

Going forward, this thread will remain open for any civil comments, suggestions and general feedback. Any kind of spam, anything remotely hateful or off-topic as well as any political discussion after this warning will be punished and will lead to suspension on the forums. You have been warned.

The only question I have is what if homophobes join the world? Will only they be punished? And not the world?

Sorry if this doesn't go under this sub channel area thingy on the forums. I couldn't find a better place for it plus I just started the project like 5 minutes ago.

So I wanted to tell you all about a world project I wanted to do called Love doesn't hate. It's going to be an lgbtqia+ world where you can learn about the LGBT community and it's also to try to teach people that gay isn't an insult and it's ok to love whoever you want. It does upset me, an openly gay person, when people on the game think it's not ok to be gay and use the word gay as an insult. So I thought it would be a cool idea to make a world that teaches people about the LGBT community! If you want to help out with the project, feel free to DM me on growtopia or on the forums or discord or on Instagram. My gt username is DJPMcG my Instagram is @pattym_. My discord is PattyM#3162

If people do end up wanting to help me with this project, I'll make a discord chat for it so we can plan out what we are doing with the world.

Also every profit I make off of anything will be going towards this project because I do believe that it might be able to help.

I hope you all have a wonderful day! Also tell me if you think this is a good idea.

    ok idc lollll

    That's quite hypocritical.
You're saying that any political discussions and remotely sexual content will be "removed and punished", when this topic is undoubtedly both.
It is quite frankly impossible to discuss this topic properly while excluding political context.
To me it seems like you're making an exception for personal satisfaction.

If your goal is to promote respectful behavior, then do it outside of any political context.
Restricting it to LGBT will lead it to include associated beliefs, such as "being intolerant towards the intolerant".

Saying that "anything remotely hateful" will lead to a suspension is bias as it implies to only affect one party.
If we go by some reactions on this thread I'd be a post-count loving homophobe (sounds like unjustified hate to me, where are the suspensions?), despite staying objective most of the time.

    Indeed.
    I think the same.

I appreciate you taking the time to offer clarity about the topic being discussed. I was reading the topic and was hoping a member of the staff would offer guidance around the situation. That really was my only concern. It also answers all the questions I would have.

I think it would be best if the world owner plays a large part in removing any problem players from the world. I think a moderator will punish people for causing problems but they probably won't be able to sit in your world and protect it constantly. Hopefully the world owner gets good admins to help him remove any problem players.

I would also suggest if people do go to the world to cause problems that the world owner just immediately removes them and not let people stay around to argue.

Unfortunately these things might happen and it's something you should be ready to handle if you want to embark on that kind of journey. Look at any revolutionary person throughout history and you might see they have been attacked in some form or another.

Please don't let people stay in the world in arguments hoping a moderator will come just so you can see them punished. That will create more problems for you I promise.

It's very possible that people on your side can over react and become part of the problem as well. Just do your best to set a good example and don't forget what the purpose of the world is. You didn't make it to fight and argue but to spread awareness about tolerance.

Why does a world about tolerance have to be a tolerance for a specific group. Don't any peaceful minorities deserve the same? Doesn't EVERYONE for that matter?

Also the argument about casinos, irrelevant. Comparing something to something else that is "worse" isn't proving anything.

Another point is saying that only straight people are against it, it would seem to me the opposite is true as well. Being a part of that community doesn't make you an expert on the subject or more qualified to make a judgement.

Most importantly we are discussing a Growtopia world, NOT the community the world is chosen to represent. They're being interchanged at will for convenience and to call people homophobes. The world itself isn't gay, it doesn't make me a homophobe if I disagree with it. I fully support everyone for their decisions and I'm sure you struggle with things that you shouldn't be subject too, but let's be real, this world isn't going to change that.

Also it's a poor choice of words when people use the word gay for things they don't like and I'm not agreeing with it but at least the word isn't being used literally. An item they don't like obviously doesn't have a sexual orientation. Its like the word retard or lame... Bad choice of words but not used for their literal meaning.

Well, our policies say that if a player uses slurs, etc, they will be punished and not the world. But if you attack back instead of letting it go and report to support, you will also be punished. If you, as an Owner do something in that world, that is considered inappropriate (i.e. sexual for example) then the world will be closed. If visitors do something inappropriate without your knowledge, only they will be punished. Basically, anyone is responsible for their behaviour. I think that's only fair.

We've removed any political comments and discussions after my initial warning, and handed out already some infractions, again, political discussions have no place in the forums.
