    Talking Hi

Yes they keep it secret because it's a suprise . The game wouldn't be fun if we knew when we would get rare items lol.
I believe in making the impossible possible, because there's no fun in giving up ❤😉
I might not be where I want to be yet but I get closer everyday ❤🤗

the true reason is everyone would be extremely upset over the extremely poor drop rates and would never participate in a lot of these events when they realize how stupidly rare the rare items are.

when every single one of your events revolve around 'legal gambling' if the community finds out how terrible their odds are, they won't want to do them.

I'd guess that one of the main reasons would be to allow the devs to tweak more often, since changing chances publicly would influence market prices a lot more.

If they reveal the chances it will steer away a lot more players from spending money to buy packs since a lot of hopefuls underestimate the rarity of some of these items, which may lead them to thinking a certain gem amount should be good enough to get something when its really not

Drop rates are hidden simply because it psychologically entices people into doing such activities even if the chances are not in their favour. It leaves the drop rates for the imagination, so when it says "really rare", it could be a chance anywhere from 1/100 to 1/10,000. If players knew every drop rate or % of activities the game wants them to play, then they wouldn't be as willing to play such activity if they knew the odds were not in their favour explicitly and thus lowering player interest.

This is why many games (specifically ones that utilise drop rates with microtransactions) hide their drop rates so players do not know how many loot boxes or playthroughs of a certain activity will be worth investing for the chance.

Anyways, do know that a thingamabob does not have (and is highly unlikely nonetheless) to have a chance of 1/12600 just because that is the price of caducei. From the common trope amongst other games, if you can straight up buy an item that is obtained through chance, they usually mark up the price above the chance to get the item. It could be safe to assume that the chance is realistically 1/10,000 or so.

Pretty sure in the near future, games that have a somewhat random loot % system will have to show the chances of getting the items that can be obtained. Meaning Growtopia could possibly be effected by this in the near future, 'if' something like this does occur.

I think GHC and thingamabobs are random to get not depends on percentage. I got GHC after spending around 2m gems and that's 400 Packs... If you make it into percentage means 0.25% that's a low chance

Games that have lootbox systems have to already, because Growtopia doesn't have a premium currency that can only be obtained with money I think they get around this requirement.

I'm already sure about this problem. I'm also not a casino player but that's why they banning casinos. Because their owners sold a lot of DLs and Ubisoft lost money. Basically, as you said, they just want money.
