What... you're kidding right? So in order to upgrade a guild from 14--->15, you would need to harvest and break a combined total of 1 million (or more if they drop 0) blocks and trees? How will people sb (other than megaphones)? What will happen to the economies of farmables, gems related pack, rayman, magplants, and so much more?

Why don't we just give everyone free wls as a daily gift so wls could be less valuable. Maybe the game will die then.

    - Compensate by adding a little more gems on all non farmables on both harvest and breaking.
Can't believe you wasted your first post on the forums with this. I guess every farmable rarity above 41 would be roots then. Oh, they don't even drop gems in the 5th harvest.

Making gem drops to 0 is a bit ridiculous, halving the gem drops of farmables above rarity 20 I agree with though. Or removing all gems from trees and only keep gems from breaking blocks?

The OP is not suggesting something unreasonable, just something that would be difficult to implement. The problem of inflation comes from more gems being “spawned” into existence as more players seek to obtain gems. Scaling back gem drops already happened at least once in Growtopia’s history (anyone remember sugarcane?), so it is not so far a stretch to drastically decrease the gem drops.

There exist a few problems with implementing this:
    1. The game’s development has a reciprocal relationship on this inflation, so many of the gem prices being charged currently would become ridiculous. Of course, prices could be adjusted, but the amount of gems currently in the game is a bit nebulous, and converting prices without a scaling factor would be risky.
    2. Adjusting the gem prices might solve the problem in a long-term fashion, but the value of actual gems sitting in the hands of players would instantaneously increase, potentially causing another problem with this instant fortune.
    3. It is too late to implement something like this. If the player base was exponentially growing, this might be a great idea. However, as the number of players stagnates, the probability that a suggestion like this forces a new equilibrium to be reached diminishes. If new players do not stay, the value of gems will simply not reach a stable point, as, once again, players that accumulated wealth under the old system would be lowering the value of gems.

It is vexing to see posts that come from individuals that have put literally zero thought into how this OP’s suggestions might work out. It is one thing to funpost on threads that have vapid meanings and exist because of adolescent boredom, but to diminish the post’s value and disregard it with an, “lol he said what?” shows a disinterest in discussion and immaturity to continue posting anyway.

To the people maintaining actual discussion: good job!

Sometimes an idea is great but if presented incorrectly, it will look like it isn’t.

On the other hand some post gave a better idea such as halving the gem drop, which is more reasonable than making it 0.

BTW, assuming OP suggestion got implemented without any revisions (which is very unlikely since almost all suggestion gets something changed in one way or another ), people will just shift to farming lower rarity farmables. Maybe it will even bring back coral and sugar cane trend.

And as my personal opinion, when making suggestion you should properly communicate what you wanted, instead of making people think of the result. Think of it as a pitch, convince the reader why it’s a good thing. Or else people will just drop it immediately.
I got nothing against to the OP but I don’t blame the “useless” commenters for commenting. Although, yes it would be better if they have given thought on it.
