How does RTSoft make money off of FQ?

As seen on the FQ Files page... server admins are charged a $30 fee for a six month license to operate the server. Players in the game, however, are not charged. It is my understanding that sysadmins can modify the game to their liking, to include ads, etc. to fund the server license.
